Educational Therapy
Educational therapy offers children and adolescents with learning disabilities and other learning challenges a broad range of intensive, individualized interventions designed to remediate learning problems.
Educational therapists create and implement treatment plans that utilize information about a child from a variety of sources including the child's social, emotional, psycho-educational, and neuropsychological framework.
An educational therapist can provide:
Academic Evaluations
Remediation of learning disabilities such as:
- Reading disorders (dyslexia)
- Writing disorders (dysgraphia)
- Math disorders
- Visual processing deficits
- Auditory processing deficits
- Poor organizational/study skills
- Test anxiety
- Case management to help coordinate related services (counseling, social skills groups, speech/language therapy, occupational/physical therapy, medication management, etc.)
- Communication/advocacy on behalf of children/adolescents/parents through email and consultations with school, teacher, IEP teams
- Placement (can visit various classroom settings to determine best school placement based on child's needs.)
